Elsbeth Fast
Elsbeth Fast is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has over 30 years of experience working in the field of mental health. While managing a large outpatient Trauma Program at the Department of Veterans Affairs, she became interested in the overlap between PTSD, Depression, Anxiety and Insomnia. After receiving training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia she became a master trainer and consultant, training other therapists within the VA how to deliver this highly effective treatment. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the Alice Walton School of Medicine, teaching future physicians about non-pharmacological treatments for insomnia. She is an active member of the Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine, meeting regularly with other clinicians in the field.
Over the course of her time at the VA and in private practice, she has treated countless clients with Insomnia Disorder. Many of these clients lost faith in their ability to sleep naturally without medication. Elsbeth believes strongly that restoring sleep is an essential way to improve mental and physical health. When she is not sleeping (with her trusted sleep mask and white noise machine) she enjoys reading, comforting her perpetually anxious dog, and watching her young adult children discover themselves and the world.
